2007 Alex Bay Outing - Current status

Fellow Ballwashers, here is an update on our 2007 Alex Bay outing...

It's gonna happen...
  • ...but NOT during Pirate Days because (1) WAYYYY too much police presence, (2) too much competition/demand for limited lodging options, and (3) increased demand/competition drives increased prices during Pirate Days. So now we're trying to work out ALTERNATE dates:
    • Maybe we'll have the Mid-Season in Alex Bay...Thurs-Sun, June 7-10, 2007?
    • Maybe the weekend BEFORE Pirate Days begin...Thurs-Sun, Aug 02-05, 2007?
    • Maybe the weekend AFTER Pirate Days end...Thurs-Sun, Aug 23-26, 2007?
    • Your input on these dates is welcome and ENCOURAGED.
  • We will arrange TWO Days of golf (Fri/Sat), and it's looking like it'll be at the Thousand Islands Country Club (TICC). We'd play the TICC "Old Course" one day, and the TICC "Lake Course" the other day, and we're trying to work out a package that covers 2 Days Golf w/cart and 2 Breakfasts. The other golf option, C-Way, is closed for the season but I'm expecting to get some meaningful info from them soon.
  • We're looking into how we'll provide Ballwasher lodging, right IN Alexandria Bay, so that we can walk back to our hotels/motels after busy nights of Ballwasher mingling. The concept is that we'll narrow the lodging options down to a short list (right now it's a long list), and then each Ballwasher would commit to something like one of the following options (these are likely to change, except for maybe the last one):

    • Admiral #1: 3 Nights lodging (Thur/Fri/Sat) and 2 days Golf (Fri/Sat)
    • Admiral #2: 2 Nights lodging (Fri/Sat) and 2 days Golf (Fri/Sat)
    • Captain #1: 2 Nights lodging (Fri/Sat) and 1 day Golf (Sat)
    • Captain #2: 1 Night lodging (Fri or Sat) and 1 day Golf (Sat)
    • Lubber: NO lodging, 1 day Golf (Sat)
    • DoucheBag: No lodging, No Golf
There will be more to come when there's more news to share. This will be an Epic outing, and a welcome change from the annual routine. Don't be a DoucheBag, start planning your participation accordingly.

More to come when there's more to share...
-Nort
